Sun Valley, Idaho

Welcome to the 14th annual Foodservice Economic Summit- a conference dedicated to bringing industry leaders together in an intimate format for idea sharing and development within the food industry.

This annual conference will continue to focus on the issues facing manufacturer’s and operator’s in the current economic environment, which this year, is potentially explosive.

Our first day session, returning this year by attendee feedback, is the manufacturer panel. A select group of manufacturer’s will be giving presentations of best practices, unique ideas, and innovative concepts that they have employed in their organizations. This is truly a unique idea sharing session that has proven extremely valuable.

Our second day highlight will be guest speaker Dr. Barry Asmus. Dr. Asmus speaks, writes, and consults on political and business issues facing America. Recognized for his views on making the U.S. a world-class competitor, he was twice voted the Outstanding Professor of the Year, as well as honored with the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge Award for Private Enterprise Education. Dr. Asmus is a Senior Economist with the National Center for Policy Analysis. The NCPA promotes private sector, market-based solutions. Dr. Asmus has been speaking to audiences in the U.S. and the world for over twenty-five years. Barry is a returning FSES speaker having been a featured guest at the first ever FSES.

Our third day will kick off with Chris Moyer, Manager for National Restaurant Association Conserve: Solutions for Sustainability, leading us through the restaurant industry’s sustainability initiative. Chris will illustrate how the National Restaurant Association will not only lead the industry into a future of better environmental stewardship, but also lead the almost 1 million foodservice operations into a future filled with the kind of “Green” that spends. Chris will demonstrate how sustainability applies to the foodservice industry and how other industries can become more sustainable too. Not to mention, Chris will conclude by touching on how the Green movement affects everyone, in every city, in every market and by everyone, he meant you!

Following Chris, we will be convening an operator panel which will truly be one of the sights to see and one of the discussions to hear at this year's FSES.
